Merrimack Bus Driver Added to Safety 'Wall of Fame'

Laurette Cillo is being honored for transporting thousands of children and traveling hundreds of thousands of miles.

Student Transportation Inc. (STI) is inducting local Merrimack bus driver Laurette Cillo into its Safety “Wall of Fame,” the company’s highest and most prestigious honor, according to a press statement.

“Laurette has transported thousands of children and has travelled hundreds of thousands of miles during her career,” said Pat Bailey, Terminal Manager for STI’s Merrimack location. “She is a valuable asset to this location. She has been a mentor to many new drivers and a source of information for many others.”

Cillo, a veteran of the school transportation industry with more than 40 years of experience, was chosen for the award based on her reliability, knowledge of safety policies and decades of perfect attendance. In 2000, she received the Safe Driving Award from the New Hampshire School Transportation Association for 35 years of accident-free driving. She is also heavily involved in her community as an Honor Flight Volunteer for World War II Veterans, through her family’s church and in helping senior citizens.
