Merrimack Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Applications Accepted

Applications are available for the 2015 Merrimack Chamber of Commerce scholarship, according to an emailed statement.

Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activity, and community service. Special consideration is given to students with an entrepreneurial spirit. Applicants must be employed by or be the dependent of an employee of a member of the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce.

“We are pleased to be able to support local students, especially those with aspirations of being a business owner,” said Deb Courtemanche, executive director of the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage our members to share this opportunity with their employees who may be eligible or have children who may be eligible for this scholarship.”

Written applications are due by Friday, April 10. Finalists will be contacted by phone and/or email the week of April 19, and invited to interview with a judging panel during the week of May 3.

This year, marks the eleventh year the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce has given out these scholarships, providing more than $30,000 to local high school graduates for their post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded for $1,500. Last year, thanks to a successful fundraising event, the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce was able to award five scholarships.

Scholarship money is raised through the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Recognition Event and Scholarship Fundraiser held in March. Please call or email the chamber office with any questions at all.
