Merrimack Charter School Relocating to Nashua
Merrimack's Academy for Science & Design announces plans to move to Amherst Street over the summer.
The , 316 Daniel Webster Highway, has announced it will move to a location on Amherst Street in Nashua for the Fall 2012 school year.
According to a letter issued by the board of trustees, the school will move to a building at 486 Amherst St., which currently houses Cobham Tactical Communications and Surveillance. The building will double the current building size, to 50,000 square feet, with room for additional expansion of about 17,000 square feet.
The move will mean the school will be able to increase enrollment by at least 150 students. Currently there are 285 students enrolled.

The Academy for Science and Design is an open-enrollment public charter school for students in grades six through 12. Academy for Science and Design specializes in architecture and engineering, chemistry and bio-medicine, astronomy and astronautics, computer sciences, system design and simulation, environment and global sustainability, mathematics and physics and aeronautics and aviation. If there are more eligible students than there are openings at the school, a lottery is held.
