Merrimack Defeats Keene 5-2 in High School Hockey action

The Merrimack Tomahawks improved to 4-0 on the season after defeating Keene in an ice cold contest at the Cheshire Fairgrounds Saturday night.

Merrimack opened the scoring on a Senior Shane Foye snipe, but relinquished the lead on a controversial goal minutes later. Keene forwards scored in a crease scramble even as the net was clearly knocked loose of it’s pegs. The Tomahawks would regroup in the second with goals by Senior Shane Foye (2), Junior Aaron Tupper, and Sophomore John Tianno. Senior Matt Brewster was between the pipes for Merrimack and made several clutch stops for the Tomahawks. Junior defenseman Kyle Feeney would put the finishing touch on the game for Merrimack by hitting an empty netter on a dead-aimed 150’ shot from the Tomahawks defensive end.

Monday, 1/12/15 @ Memorial (JFK arena), 4:30 pm start.

Wednesday, 1/14/15 vs Kingwood (West Side Arena), 4 pm start.

Saturday, 1/17/15 vs Bow (West Side Arena), 6:10 pm start.
