Merrimack Fire Destroys Watanic Bowmen Clubhouse
Fierce flames greeted Merrimack Fire Rescue as they battled a blaze at the Watanic Bowmen Archery Range early Tuesday morning.
MERRIMACK, NH — Fierce flames greeted Merrimack firefighters when they responded to an overnight blaze that destroyed clubhouse at the Watanic Bowmen Archery Range early Tuesday morning. There were no injuries reported as Merrimack Fire Rescue knocked down the fire in less than an hour and prevented it from catching to the surrounding woods.
Merrimack Fire Rescue were called to the Bowmen's Clubhouse at about 2:47 a.m. for a fire that had engulfed the clubhouse and was in danger of spreading to the woods.
Firefighters were able to connect to a water supply on Queens Way and battled the fire for about 40 minutes until they were able to bring it under control. Merrimack Fire Rescue extinguished hot spots and worked the overall exterior of the area until they were able to leave the scene about 10:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Merrimack Fire Marshal and Merrimack Police Department. Assistance in the investigation was received from a Manchester Fire Department Investigator and arson dog. The Nashua Fire Department sent an Engine to cover Merrimack's empty station.
