Merrimack Fire Raises $2,000 for MDA
2nd Annual "Green Balls of Fire" bowling tournament was held earlier this month.

MERRIMACK, NH - The Professional Firefighters of Merrimack Local 2904 raised $2,000 to help kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related diseases that severely limit strength and mobility live longer and grow stronger, at the 2nd Annual Green Balls of Fire bowling tournament on March 13, 2016, according to a press statement.
“For more than six decades, firefighters have fueled MDA's mission to find treatments and cures for muscle-debilitating diseases, and this year’s results are perfect example of their dedication,” said MDA Senior Fundraising Coordinator Michele Masse. “We are extremely grateful to have the support of these truly selfless heroes, as well as the entire Merrimack community. It is with their generosity that we will be able to empower MDA families with life-enhancing resources and support that open new possibilities and maximize independence so they can experience the world without any limits.”
Funds raised help MDA’s efforts to fund groundbreaking research and life-enhancing programs such as state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers, including the MDA Care Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon and Manchester. They also help send local kids to “the best week of the year” at MDA summer camp at no cost to their families at Agassiz Village in Poland, ME. IAFF support for MDA began in 1954 and to date, firefighters have raised $583 million for MDA.
