Merrimack Girl Scouts

Well Attended Camporee and Donations to Food Bank

Merrimack Community Girl Scouts celebrated another successful year with their annual camporee at Wasserman Park on the weekend of May 18, 2018. One hundred and sixty-three girls from Nineteen Troops of Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette and Senior Troops attended the Girl Scout Camporee. The theme was “GAME ON!”. The Girls attended outdoor and indoor sessions that focused on outdoor fun and games.

Older Girl Scout Troops planned and ran sessions for the younger Girl Scouts. Special thanks go to Senior Troops 12129 & 10375 and Cadette Troops 10144 & 20113 for jobs well done. Also thanks to our Camporee Committee, thirty-eight leaders, twenty-one parent volunteers and Matt Casparius at Merrimack Parks and Recreation for all their help in making this a successful Camporee!

The girls were able to experience camping in tents and cabins and attend traditional events like campfires and outdoor activities. As part of giving back to our community the girls brought personal care items to donate to the St. John Neumann Food Pantry and they completed “kaper” assignments to make sure that they left Wasserman Park better than when they came.
