Merrimack High School Top 10 For 2026: Lauren Murby, No. 9

In the fall, Class of 2026 student Lauren Murby will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree at Northeastern University.

MERRIMACK, NH — Lauren Murby is honored to be among the Top 10 for Merrimack High School’s Class of 2026.

She would first like to thank her family, friends, coaches, and all of her teachers who have helped her along the way. She is grateful for the opportunities they have given her, academically, athletically, and more.

Throughout her high school career, Lauren has taken multiple AP classes and earned college credit through Early College classes. She has balanced these challenging courses with numerous extracurricular activities, including cross-country, track and field, Student Council, the National Honor Society, and volunteering at a local farm.

Lauren received the Coach’s Award in her senior season of cross country for her dedication to improvement and encouraging others on the team. She was thrilled to have set a goal for herself last season and reach it at one of her last meets of high school. Lauren has also thrown shotput and javelin for the track and field team. She has continued to show her passion for the team in the past four spring seasons.

In her clubs at school, Lauren is the vice president of the National Honor Society, secretary of the Science National Honor Society, a member of the Yearbook Club, co-founder of the school’s Weightlifting Club, Student Body treasurer, Student Council class representative, Quiz Bowl member, and appeared on NHPBS’s Granite State Challenge.

Outside of the high school, Lauren is a camp counselor at Melody Pines Day Camp over the summer, a volunteer at The Educational Farm at Joppa Hill, and a Girl Scout. She enjoys working with her group at camp, feeding the animals at the farm for the night, and participating in community engagement activities through the Girl Scouts.

One of Lauren’s favorite memories during her high school career was traveling to Italy with a group of her friends through the school in April 2025. She was able to travel around the country, eat delicious food, learn about the culture, and visit beautiful places and monuments.

In the fall, Lauren will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree at Northeastern University. She hopes to work towards a Master’s degree. She is grateful for all the opportunities presented to her and would like to congratulate her fellow graduates and wish them luck in the future.
