Merrimack Man Arrested After Alleged Assault, Threat Incident
Nicholas Coyle was arraigned earlier this week after an alleged altercation on Black River Road.

A local man was arrested last week after allegedly getting into an altercation with others near Black River Road, according to police.
Nicholas E. Coyle, 27, of Merrimack, was arrested on April 24, 2015, and charged with simple assault and criminal threatening.
Police, according to a report, were sent to the road at around 6:30 p.m. for a past tense assault.

The complainant, Coyle, reportedly told police he had been involved in an altercation with two other people. At one point, the altercation became physical, Lt. Matthew Tarleton of the Merrimack Police Department.
“Upon questioning Coyle further and following-up with the other parties involved,” Tarleton said, “it was learned that an argument had occurred during which point Coyle assaulted one subject by grabbing and injuring their wrist and threatened another party with bodily harm.”

Coyle was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and arraigned on April 28.
According to a Patch report in February 2013, Coyle was arrested on domestic-related simple assault, domestic-related criminal mischief and obstructing the report of a crime.
