Merrimack Man Arrested for Aggravated OUI

Edwin Potter was also arraigned on endangering a child, marijuana charges after incident on Daniel Webster Highway.

A local man was arrested and arraigned last week on multiple charges after reports of an erratic driving on Daniel Webster Highway.

Edwin Potter, 30, of Wire Road in Merrimack, was arrested on April 13, 2015, and charged with aggravated operating under the influence of liquor, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession and transportation of marijuana.

According to Sgt. Brian Levesque of the Merrimack Police Department, police received reports of a vehicle on the Daniel Webster Highway “operating erratically” and went looking for the vehicle, which they eventually found near a playground around 6:30 p.m.

An officer spoke to the driver, Potter, and alleged that he was under the influence. He was later arrested.

“During a tow inventory of his vehicle, police located a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle,” according to Levesque. “He was also charged with possession and transportation of a controlled drug.”

Potter was held on $1,000 cash bail and arraigned the next day in Merrimack District Court.
