Merrimack Man Arrested on Driving Charges

Police arrested Matthew Brissett on the Daniel Webster Highway after he was reportedly found to be driving with a suspended Florida license.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Merrimack man who formerly lived in Florida was arrested this week after a traffic stop led to a suspended license charge. Matthew P. Brissett, 32, of Webster Court in Merrimack, was arrested on Feb. 20, 2017, for operating after suspension, prohibitions, and prohibited use of an electronic device.

An officer, at just 1:30 p.m., reportedly saw a motor vehicle infraction and pulled over a vehicle on the Daniel Webster Highway, according to Sgt. Kenneth MacLeod of the Merrimack Police Department.

“The officer subsequently stopped the motor vehicle and made contact with the operator who was identified by a Florida driver license as being Matthew P. Brissett,” MacLeod noted. “Upon further investigation by the officer, it was learned that Brissett’s operating privileges were suspended out of Florida for failing to pay a traffic fine.”

Brissett was arrested on numerous charges and was released on personal recognizance bail. He’s due in court on March 23.
