Merrimack Man Arrested On Drug, Driving Charges

Scott Dorval was arrested by police after allegedly driving to flee from police.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local man was arrested last week on a license required violation and other charges after allegedly trying to flee from police. Scott Dorval, 53, of the Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2018, on two counts of possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, motor vehicle license required, and resisting arrest or detention. At just after 12:30 a.m. last Wednesday, police were behind a pickup truck on the DW Highway when an officer learned that the registered owner did not have a valid license.

“At this time, the truck pulled into a residential driveway,” according to Lt. Ted Dillon of the Merrimack Police Department. “The officer stopped and made contact with the above driver, Scott Dorval. When the officer started to approach him, he fled on foot.”

After a short pursuit, Dorval was caught and arrested.

At police headquarters, Dorval was allegedly found to be in possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and that charge was added to the license and resisting charges.

Dorval is due in court on Feb. 8.
