Merrimack Man Arrested for Lack of Ignition Device

Police stopped Eric Thibeault for speeding.

A local man was arrested during the weekend for not having an alcohol ignition interlock circumvention device on his vehicle.

Eric Thibeault, 34, of Greenleaf Street in Merrimack, was arrested around 1 p.m. on Nov. 8, after a traffic stop on Continental Blvd.

Thibeault reportedly was speeding when pulled over.

The officer checked his license and noted that his vehicle required the device but didn’t have one installed. Thibeault was then arrested and charged. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is due in Merrimack District Court to answer to the charge.

If found guilty, police say, he could spend a year in jail and/or pay a $2,000 fine.
