Merrimack Man Charged in Nashua Burglary

Police say Chris Benoit knew his victim.

A local man was charged Saturday for a Nashua burglary under investigation since June.

Christopher Benoit, 36, of Merrimack, was arrested on July 30 and charged with domestic violence-burglary, a class A felony, after police say Benoit broke into a woman's home on Arlington Street in Nashua and stole items from the residence.

The burglary is alleged to have taken place June 20 and the victim told authorities she knew the person who broke in, Nashua Police say.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years in prison and fines. Benoit was held on $10,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment which was scheduled for Aug. 1.
