Merrimack Man Faces DWI, Other Charges

Deven Demanche was charged after allegedly failing to stop on Daniel Webster Highway.

A local man was arrested yesterday for driving while intoxicated and other charges after a motor vehicle infraction.

Deven Demanche, 21, of Pearl Court in Merrimack, was arrested at around 1 a.m. on Oct. 6, and charged with DWI, disobeying a police officer, possession of controlled drugs, and operating after suspension.

According to police, at 12:50 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a 2006 Mercury Montego on Daniel Webster Highway north for an infraction. The vehicle didn’t stop until it reached the parking lot of the police department. Officers took him into custody and he was charged.

Demanche was held on $2,500 cash bail. He was arraigned later that morning.

Previously, Demanche was arrested in 2010 on a disorderly conduct charge, according to online reports. In 2013, he was arrested in Nashua on liquor law violations and unlawful possession of alcohol in Amherst.
