Merrimack Man Wanted on Gun Flap: Cops

MERRIMACK, NH - The Merrimack Police Department is looking for the public's help in finding a local man on an unsworn falsification count, according to an alert.

Steven J. Cavaliere, 48, of Indian Rock Round, is wanted on the single misdemeanor count.

Investigators learned Cavaliere allegedly attempted to purchase two handguns from a local gun dealer, however, he is also a fugitive out of Massachusetts.

Merrimack Police were notified by the Gun Line in Concord that Cavaliere had attempted to purchase two semiautomatic pistols at Collectible Arms and Ammo on Daniel Webster Highway on March 24, 2016, according to the allegation. When the application was filled out by Cavaliere, it was later examined by state employees, and it was determined that Cavaliere is a fugitive from justice out of the state of Massachusetts, according to police.

Investigators attempted to get Cavaliere to turn himself in, but he has reportedly decided to ignore those attempts, according to a post on Twitter by police.
