Merrimack Motorcyclist Injured In I-93 Lower Split Crash
New Hampshire State Police say speed is a contributing factor after a crash Monday night in Manchester.
MANCHESTER, NH — A Merrimack man was taken to Elliot Hospital Tuesday after a crash on I-93 South in Manchester at the lower split with I-293, according to the New Hampshire State Police. The man, 32, who has not been charged, was riding a 2006 Honda CBR1000R motorcycle "when he lost control and struck the cement barrier separating northbound and southbound traffic," according to Lt. Bryan Trask of Troop B. The man was ejected from the motorcycle after striking the barrier and thrown over it, and came to a rest on his left shoulder of the northbound lanes.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Trask said. The motorcycle remained in the southbound lane and sustained heavy damage.
"Through the initial investigation it appears that speed was a contributing factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation," Trask said.
