Merrimack Police: Beware of Scams

Merrimack Police Department: “Today we took a complaint from a Merrimack resident regarding a possible scam letter and check they had received. The resident provided us with the letter which is pictured below. We knew it was a scam and called the name and number provided on this letter.

After the officer identified themselves and began to ask questions, the person who identified himself as Franco Daninato (as on the letter), hung up on the officer.

Please, please, please remind your family, friends and neighbors that if they receive a letter like this one, DO NOT cash the check or call the person, shred it or contact us here at Merrimack Police. Don’t fall victim to these criminals. By the way, it is nice to see that criminals have business hours too and take weekends off!”
