Merrimack Police Investigating Suspicious Man in Park

UPDATED: Unknown man, sketch attached, reportedly approached, scared juveniles at Twin Bridge Park/Kids Cove.

Merrimack Police investigators are looking for a man who reportedly approached kids in the area of the Twin Bridge Park and Kids Cove on Saturday afternoon, according to an alert.

Police were called to the park at around 5:30 p.m. on May 30, 2015, to investigate the issue and spoke with the juveniles and the complainant about the incident. The juveniles stated they were playing in the park when a man they didn’t know approached them.

“The male first tried to scare the juveniles, then asked on two separate occasions if they wanted to come down to the river with him,” according to Lt. Denise I. Roy of the Merrimack Police Department. “The juveniles did the appropriate thing and told the male subject they could not go with him. The unidentified male eventually left the area and the juveniles told a trusted adult about the encounter.”

Anyone with information about the incident or the man is urged to call the Merrimack Police Department at 603-424-3774. According to the alert, police are seeking to identify him for questioning regarding this incident.

Merrimack Police also want parents “to take this opportunity to speak to your children about strangers and what they are approached by one,” according to the alert.
