Merrimack Resident Raises Awareness for Alzheimer's
MacPherson will participate in the Central New Hampshire Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sept. 26.

Merrimack resident Summer MacPherson will participate in the Central New Hampshire Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Arms Park in Manchester.
MacPherson joins the Walk to End Alzheimer’s for the first time to honor her grandmother and uncle who are living with Alzheimer’s.
“I have seen first hand what Alzheimer’s can do to people and it’s scary and dangerous and heart wrenching,” said MacPherson. “I don’t want anyone to have to go through that if they don’t have to. If we raise enough money to find a cure or at least be able to slow it down, it would really benefit the lives of those who suffer from it.”

“If we are to be successful in finding effective treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, we will need thousands of people to commit to raising public awareness,” said Jim Wessler, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter. “The money raised by the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is critical to our fight against this disease. We are grateful to each person who makes a commitment to participate by walking, donating or volunteering.”
More than fivemillion people in America are living with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
