Merrimack Sparkler 5K Road Race Set for July 4th
19th Annual 5K Road Race benefits all of the school based running programs in Merrimack

Get your July 4 celebration off to a great start this year while at the same time supporting the Merrimack High school and middle schools girls and boys cross country and track programs by signing up now for the 19th Annual Merrimack Sparkler 5K and Kids Run!!
The race was founded by the Merrimack Road Runner Boosters in 1998 and is one of the oldest continuous 4th of July races held in the State of New Hampshire and has become an integral part of the Town’s annual 4th of July celebration. This year’s race returns to the “original” 5k course now that the re-construction of the Manchester Street Bridge over Harris Pond has been completed.
This year’s 5k race starts at 8:00 A.M. sharp from the Merrimack Y and is sponsored by Fleet Feet Sports 4 Coliseum Ave #2, Nashua, NH 03063. The race will feature a brand new race logo design by Merrimack High School student Morgan Chantler as well as classy Sport-Tek race shirts with the new race logo. This year shirts will be limited to the first 200 entrants.

All proceeds from the Sparkler race go to support the high school and middle schools very successful cross country and track programs. Boosters club president Kristin Carillo noted that this years race will also feature a free kids run at 7:45 A.M. Carillo explained “ [t]he kids race is open to kids of all ages and consists of 2 loops around the YMCA field (.25 miles). All participants will receive their very own finisher’s medal!”
