Merrimack Teen Arrested on Domestic Assault Charge

Tearyn Vargas allegedly assaulted a family member last week, according to police.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local teen is due in court later this week on a domestic assault charge, Merrimack Police noted in a press statement. Tearyn Vargas, 18, of Merrimack, was arrested on Jan. 7, 2017, for domestic violence-simple assault.

At just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, officers were sent to a local home for a report of a domestic disturbance, according to a report. When they arrived, they spoke with Vargas and a complainant and after a brief investigation, she was arrested, Mpl. Michael Lambert of the Merrimack Police Department noted.

The officer alleged that Vargas “assaulted a family member,” the report alleged.

Vargas was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and then, to police headquarters to be processed. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Jan. 12.
