Teen Arrested for Second Time in 10 Days

The following information was supplied by the Merrimack and Nashua police departments. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Merrimack teen and two juvenile passengers in her car were taken into custody Tuesday on alcohol-related charges.

Karina Villegas, 17, of 637 Daniel Webster Highway, faces charges of conduct after an accident, operating under the influence of liquor and breach of bail conditions after an off-duty Merrimack Police officer saw her car strike two mailboxes and attempt to leave the scene on Woodward Road around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday morning, police say.

When officers responded to the call they noticed signs of impairment while talking with Villegas, police say. She was arrested and her two 16-year-old female passengers were detained when they were found to be in possession of alcohol as well, police say.

Villegas was arrested two weeks ago, on July 22, and charged with three counts of domestic-related criminal mischief for damaging property within the Daniel Webster Highway home police responded to. At that time, she was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail.

After Tuesday's arrest, Villegas was placed on $1,000 cash and $5,000 personal recognizance bail. She was scheduled for arraignment on Aug. 3.

Her passengers were each charged with being minors in possession of alcohol and were released to their parents. Their cases will go before the juvenile court.

Two more teens charged in separate alcohol incident

In a separate incident, two other Merrimack teens were arrested on alcohol charges on Turkey Hill Road.

A vehicle was stopped on Turkey Hill Road, near Pilgrim Avenue for a defective equipment violation at 12:39 a.m. on Tuesday and an odor of alcohol was emanating from the vehicle, police say. After a brief investigation, officers arrested Michael Differ, 16, of 4 Depot St. for internal possession of alcohol.

The operator of the vehicle Nicholas Beliveau, also 16, of 55 Bedford Road, Merrimack was charged with possession of alcohol and transportation of alcohol after police located beer in the teen's car.

Both were transported to the Merrimack Police Department and released on personal recognizance bail. They are both ordered to appear in Merrimack's District Court on Aug. 30.

Alton man turns himself in after allegedly violating protective order

Also on Tuesday, Michael Marcotte, 31, of 42 Rand Hill Road, Alton, turned himself in to Merrimack Police on a warrant for violation of a protective order.

The charge stems from earlier that day when Marcotte allegedly threatened a person living in the same household as the person protected by the restraining order, police say. Marcotte was held without bail and transported the the Hillsborough County House of Corrections, known as Valley Street Jail, in Manchester, pending his arraignment Aug. 3.
