Merrimack Teen, Manchester Woman Charged with Prostitution

Amber Barton and Crystal Barton were arrested by Nashua Police as part of an Operation Granite Hammer sweep this week.

NASHUA, NH — Two local women were arrested on prostitution charges as part of an Operation Granite Hammer sweep in Nashua this week, according to police. Arrested during the sweep were Amber Barton, 18, pictured left, of Waterville Drive in Merrimack, and Crystal Barton, 37, of North Street in Manchester.

According to Lt. Kevin Rourke of the Nashua Police Department, members of the department’s Narcotics Intelligence Division, Problem Oriented Policing Unit, and Traffic Unit, performed the sweep this week and arrested “a number of individuals were arrested for various drug crimes, and various crimes frequently associated with criminal behavior related to drug activity.”

Crystal Barton was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is also due in court on May 31.

According to online reports, Barton was reportedly shot in Manchester in March 2015, allegedly by Damian Walsh, who was later charged with reckless conduct, according to the ManchVegas Daily blog. Walsh reportedly testified at his arraignment that the shooting was accidental, according to WMUR-TV.
