Merrimack Town Council Will Discuss Stop Sign at Island Drive
A public hearing will also be held to discuss a firefighter grant on Aug. 18.

MERRIMACK, NH — The Merrimack Town Council will hold two public hearings at a meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, in the Matthew Thornton Room located at 8 Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, according to a press statement.
The first hearing will consider the proposed change to Chapter 183 – Vehicles and Traffic, of the Town Code, to accept and install a “stop” sign on Island Drive at the intersection of Island Drive and D.W. Drive, pursuant to Charter Article V, Section 5-3.
Copies of the proposed change are available at the town manager’s office, town clerk’s office, the Merrimack Public Library and also on the town’s website.

The council will also consider the acceptance and expenditure of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in the amount of $317,600, with a federal portion of $288,728 and a town portion of $28,872, that has been awarded to the Merrimack Fire Department for the purpose of replacing outdated Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and associated equipment, pursuant to RSA 31:95-b and Charter Article 8-15.
