Merrimack Voters Approve $3.3M for Highway Garage Upgrades
More than 1,600 voters cast ballots in the town's annual election.

MERRIMACK, NH — More than 1,600 voters cast ballots in the 2017 town election and approved money for a highway garage upgrade as well as a nearly $35 million town budget. According to unofficial returns, town voters approved of spending $3.3 million on highway garage upgrades today with 69 votes over the two-thirds needed to be approved.
Voters in town also approved of a $34.8 million town budget by a vote of 968 to 619.
All town races were uncontested. Bill Boyd and Finlay Rothhaus will serve as town councilors with Peter Albert serving a one-year term, Melinda Szatela was elected to the Ethics Committee, Jack Balcom was elected as a Trustee of Trust Funds, and Karen Jo Freed and Lora Philp were elected as Library Trustees.
