Merrimack Woman Lied To Cops After Stabbing Incident: Report

Breaking: Kristin Miller was arrested on a false report to law enforcement charge today after a January incident on Scott Drive.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local woman who was reportedly a victim in a stabbing last month has been charged with filing a false report to police, according to a post on Facebook. Kristin Miller, 33, of Scott Drive in Merrimack, was arrested on Feb. 8, 2018, on a false report to law enforcement charge. Back on Jan. 27, at around 10 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Scott Drive for a report of a woman stabbed in a driveway.

EMTs treated the woman and took her to the hospital while police searched the area for an at-large assailant. However, during the course of the investigation – which included a K-9 unit tracking footprints in the snow and stopping vehicles in various neighborhoods around town – investigators began to believe that Miller “knowingly gave information to the responding officers and investigators that an unknown male assailant confronted her and then stabbed her,” according to Capt. Michael Dudash of the Merrimack Police Department.

“This information was later discovered by the investigators to be false,” Dudash alleged. “Based on evidence recovered by the investigators it is alleged that Mrs. Miller stabbed herself and that her injuries were self-inflicted.”

A warrant was issued for Miller’s arrest and she was charged today. She’s due in court on Feb. 22.
