Merrimack Youth Association competes in the Marshwood's 2016 New England Youth Wrestling Invitational Classic

MYA Wrestlers bring home one champ title and two runners-up

The MYA Program competed in the Marshwood's New England Wrestling Tournament held at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, ME on April 2, 2016.  This folk-style, post-season tournament attracts die-hards from all over the New England region.  Merrimack sent 5 wrestlers with individual results as follows:

First grader Rhys Dewar placed fourth on the day with two wins by points.

Second grader Jackson Meehan took second place with two pins on the day.

Mitchell Krupp, grade 4, also competed in the tournament with one win.  He fell in a very close match with a last minute decision by a few points in his final round.

Anson Dewar, grade 7, brought home second place trophy with three wins by points in the 100 lb bracket.

Aiden Hanning, grade 7, continued his spectacular season by taking 1st place with five wins in the 125 lb bracket.  He conquered his first four opponents by points and pinned his final competitor in the championship match.
