Merrimack Youth Association grabs 7 championship and 3 runners-up titles in VT Tournament

The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program competed in the Schweitzer Memorial K-8 Wrestling Tournament held in Springfield, VT on March 5, 2016.  Merrimack sent 12 wrestlers to compete with individual results below:

First graders Rhys Dewar and Kael McAloon both took first place medal with Dewar completing one pin and McAloon grabbing two pins on the day.

Collin Schuster, grade 1, finished in second place with two wins by pin.

Second grade stand-out Jackson Meehan added 3 more wins to an 18 win and 3 loss record enroute to his sixth championship crown of the season.

Christian Chestnut, grade 2, also received the champ title in first place with two commanding wins by points.

Second grader, Cayden Dine took second with two pins on the day and a narrow loss in his first match by a few points.

Gryffen Gelinas, grade 2, brought home the third place medal.

Fourth grader Owen Forrest grabbed first place on the podium with two pins and a commanding win by points in his second match.

Mitchell Krupp, grade 4, placed second with two pins and one point away from a win in his first match-up.

Sixth grader Hunter Adams received third place on the podium with one pin and a fall in a very close match by a couple of points.

Always strong performers, Aiden Hanning and Anson Dewar, grade 7, swept through their brackets easily beating each of their opponents to both take first place medals.  Hanning had two pins on the day and a win by points in OT in his second match.  Dewar pinned all three of his opponents.
