Merrimack Youth Wrestling Competes at PJ Sora Armed Forces Memorial Tournament

Merrimack Youth Wrestling kicked off its competition season at the PJ Sora Armed Forces Memorial tournament in Londonderry, NH

The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program sent five wrestlers to compete in the PJ Sora Armed Forces Memorial Tournament held at Londonderry High School, Dec. 7. Individual results were as follows:

Aiden Hanning, grade 6, won via pin in his first match but lost a his second match. He went on to win two more matches on the day, one by pin and the other by points, to finish on the podium in 3rd place.

Anthony Maglio, grade 6, dropped his first match, rallied back to score a victory by pin in his second match, and lost his third match.

Anson Dewar, grade 6, pinned his first opponent but went on to drop his next two matches, leaving him out of medal contention.

Kole Ducharme, grade 5, and Randy Brown, grade 6, lost two matches a piece.

The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program is part of the Merrimack Youth Association. It strives to provide a safe recreational activity for Merrimack children in grades K-6. The program promotes the sport of wrestling, the world’s oldest sport, by providing a safe practice environment, by delivering high quality instruction, and by facilitating tournament competition opportunities. The Program is in its 9th season and currently has 40 wrestlers on its roster.
