Milford Teen Arrested on Vehicular Assault Charge

Merrimack Police charge Sage Peterson after two-vehicle head-on collision on the Daniel Webster Highway earlier this month.

MERRIMACK, NH – A local teen is facing charges after allegedly driving over a yellow line and causing an accident with injuries, according to police. Sage Peterson, 18, of David Road in Milford, was arrested on Aug. 20, 2016, vehicular assault and highway markings.

According to police, officers were sent to a two-vehicle crash on the morning of Aug. 2, 2016, on the Daniel Webster Highway, at just after 7:30 a.m. When they arrived, officers investigated the cause of the crash and “determined that the vehicle that Peterson was driving crossed over the yellow line and caused a head on collision with another oncoming motor vehicle,” according to Sgt. Gregory Walters of the Merrimack Police Department.

Peterson and the driver of the other vehicle were both transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police then filed a warrant for Peterson’s arrest. He turned himself in about three weeks later. Peterson was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Sept. 29.
