Missing Merrimack Huskies Shot by Owner of Pigs
The dogs reportedly killed two pigs while in a local corral.

Three missing Siberian huskies from Merrimack have been shot by a local resident that reportedly told police that the dogs invaded his pig corral and attacked two of his pigs.
The dogs were reported missing from Pearson Road near the Reeds Ferry Elementary School on Sept. 29, and the Granite State Dog Recovery volunteer group and others promoted notices.
Merrimack Police also got involved in the investigation and earlier today, Chief Mark Doyle reported that the case had been solved and closed.

“Police learned that the three dogs had gone into a pig corral and were attacking the pigs,” he wrote online. “The owner of the pigs observed this occurring and shot the three dogs in order to protect his pigs. The dogs killed two pigs while they were in the corral.”
Doyle noted in the statement that state law allowed, “any person may kill a dog that is found out of the enclosure or immediate care of its owner or keeper worrying, wounding, or killing sheep, lambs, fowl, or other domestic animals.” He stated that the owner of the pigs would not be facing charges.
