Movie Night at the New Hampshire Telephone Museum: "BUtterfield 8"

This is a 4th PHridays at the PHone Museum Event. Check out our Facebook Page for more programs and event details.

Elizabeth Taylor won an Oscar in this 1960 film for her performance as Gloria, a pill-popping prostitute careening between sordid affairs and tortured by her conflicts between morality and desire. In a desperate search for love and acceptance, she hopelessly falls for a married man who will never leave his family behind. Based on the novel by John O’Hara, the title is derived from the pattern of old telephone exchange names in the United States and Canada. BUtterfield 8 was an exchange that provided service to ritzy precincts of Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Join us for a thrilling evening of entertainment and discussion – we’ll even provide the popcorn!!
