MYA Wrestling Competes in Queen City Classic Wrestling Tournament
Eleven Merrimack wrestlers take home medals
The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program competed in the Queen City Class Wrestling Tourament held at Manchester Central High School in Manchester, NH on February 3, 2019. Top four in each respective bracket were awarded medals and Merrimack took home eleven medals on the day. Eleven wrestlers from the MYA competed with individual results below:
Kindergartner Matthew Snavely finished strong on the day with a win by pin taking home third place medal.
Cash Torres, grade 2, had one win by points also grabbing third place on the podium.

Fourth graders, Micah Dodds, Luke Emond, Liam Newman and Rhys Dewar all represented for Merrimack. Dodds and Emond wrestled tough in their respective brackets taking home fourth and third place respectively. Newman captured one win by points on the day for third place. Dewar completed one win by pin and one win by points for second place medal.
John Regal and Nicolin Stevens, grade 5, both took second place on the podium. Stevens completed two of his wins by pin. Regal also had two wins on the day with one by pin and one by points.

Austin Shea, Brendan Curley and Mitchell Krupp represented for Merrimack's seventh grade contingent. She had one win by points to take home second place. Krupp also captured second place medal pinning two of his three opponents. Curley grabbed the champ title with one win by pin and one by points.
The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program is part of the Merrimack Youth Association. It strives to provide a safe recreational activity for Merrimack children in grades K-8. The program promotes the sport of wrestling, the world's oldest sport, by providing a safe practice environment, by delivering high quality instruction, and by facilitating tournament competition opportunities. The Program is in its 14th season and currently has 40 wrestlers on its roster.
