Nashua Man Bagged for Burglary

Merrimack Police arrest James Mendes more than two weeks after he allegedly stole money from a salon.

A local man will be heading to court next month to answer to charges that he burglarized a Merrimack business in early September.

James Mendes, 50, of Perham Street in Nashua, was arrested at 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 25, 2015, on a felony burglary charge as well as theft by unauthorized taking and criminal trespass.

According to police, a burglary was reported at Modern Nail Salon on Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack on Sept. 7, 2015. At the time of the burglary, money was reportedly stolen from the business.

“A suspect was developed and based upon footage from security surveillance cameras, Mendes was subsequently identified,” according to Capt. Peter Albert of the Merrimack Police Department. “A warrant was then secured for Mendes arrest.”

Mendes turned himself in to police last week and is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 8.
