Nashua Man Charged with Fleeing the Scene of a Crash

Merrimack Police arrest David Perez after incident last week in the area of Amherst Road.

MERRIMACK, NH - A local man was arrested about 24 hours after reportedly leaving the scene of an accident in town, according to police.

David Perez, 27, of Amherst Street in Nashua, was arrested on April 23, 2016, and charged with two counts of conduct after an accident.

According to police, on April 22, officers were sent to the area of Amherst Road and Turkey Hill Road for a report of an accident. The report involved a single vehicle, according to police.

But when officers arrived at the scene, the involved vehicle had reportedly left the scene. Officers checked the area and were able to locate the vehicle and speak with the operator, Perez.

“An investigation was conducted and as a result, a warrant was signed for the arrest of David Perez for two counts of conduct after an accident,” according to Sgt. Eric Marquis of the Merrimack Police Department.

Perez was arrested the next day and is due in court on June 2.

According to online reports, Perez has been arrested a number of times during the past few years.

In April 2014, he was arrested on five counts of simple assault/domestic violence and a count of second-degree simple assault, according to Nashua NH Patch. In September 2013, he was arrested for unlawful sale of narcotic drug (Percocet), a felony, and unlawful sale of controlled drug (marijuana) also a felony, according to police. In April 2012, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to a post on Patch.
