“During the course of the investigation, officers developed probable cause to believe that there was marijuana inside the involved motor vehicle,” according to Sgt. Cassell of the Merrimack Police Department. “The motor vehicle was towed back to the Merrimack Police Department where it was secured pending a search warrant. Officers requested and were granted a search warrant later that same day. Upon executing the search, officers located marijuana and paraphernalia in areas of the motor vehicle which led officers to believe that Jones and Colburn were each in possession of marijuana leading up to the crash.”

Warrants were issued against both parties and they turned themselves into police on Jan. 12, where they were charged and released on personal recognizance bail. Both Jones and Colburn are due in court on Feb. 9.
