Prisoner Charged with Past Tense Credit Card Fraud

Merrimack Police: Frank Hampson was arraigned on an incident from November 2016 after missing belongings from lockers at the YMCA.

MERRIMACK, NH — A state prisoner was arraigned on charges earlier this month from prison after a multi-month investigation. Frank Hampson, 36, currently incarcerated, was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and theft on March 15, 2017.

Back in November, police took “multiple reporters” of YMCA members reporting that their lockers had been entered into and they were missing personal belongings and car keys, according to Det. Scott Park.

Police later linked Hampson to one of the many thefts from the YMCA by utilizing video footage from a local Home Depot, where the victim’s credit card had been used,” Parks alleged.

Hampson was video arraigned from the New Hampshire State Prison and is due in court on April 7.

“Merrimack Police are reminding folks who utilize lockers at fitness facilities to secure all personal belongings to include car keys,” Parks stated.

According to reports online during the past few years, Hampson has previously been arrested for burglary and breaking and entering in Nashua, theft from a motor vehicle in Londonderry, and felony identity fraud, felony theft by unauthorized taking, felony fraudulent use of a credit card and felony-level receiving of stolen property in Peterborough.
