Queen City Woman Attempted To Elude Police With Fake Name: Cops

Police: Lynn Johnston of Manchester was arrested on felony habitual offender and other charges after a crash in Merrimack in late January.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local woman was arrested this weekend on a warrant after allegedly giving a false name to police after a crash in town in January. Lynn Johnston, 49, of Milton Street in Manchester, was arrested on Feb. 11, 2018, for felony habitual offender, disobeying an officer, and conduct after an accident. Back on Jan. 30, police and fire and rescue teams were called to the area of the Exit 12 off-ramp along the Everett Turnpike for a report of a crash, according to Mptl. Brandon Gagnon of the Merrimack Police Department.

“Upon arrival, witnesses described seeing a female who was seen operating one of the involved vehicles, walking away from the scene towards Daniel Webster Highway,” he alleged. “Officers were able to locate the female – who had attempted to conceal herself in a local business upon seeing the officers. Once officers made contact with the female, she provided a false name and address to the officer.”

After investigating the incident, police learned that Johnston was reportedly a habitual offender and police issued an arrest warrant against her. She turned herself, was processed, and released on $2,000 cash bail. Johnston is due in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South on March 1.
