Queen City Woman Busted on DWI Charges

Merrimack Police arrested Laurie Hamel last week on numerous charges after she was reportedly driving erratically.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Manchester woman was arrested on drunk driving charges last week after police reportedly saw her driving erratically, which led to a traffic stop in town, according to a press statement. Laurie Hamel, 35, of Pearl Street in Manchester, was arrested on Dec. 23, 2016, for operating under the influence aggravated per se, operating under the influence, and speed.

At just before 1 a.m. on Friday morning, an officer reported stopped a vehicle for erratic driving and spoke with the driver – Hamel – who allegedly “showed signs of alcohol impairment,” Mpl. Michael Lambert of the Merrimack Police Department.

“Police determined that Hamel was driving while intoxicated and she was placed under arrest,” Lambert noted.

Hamel was processed and released on personal recognizance bail. She is due in court on Jan. 5, 2017, according to police.
