Ride the Hair Wave

Waves and curls are the hottest trend in hairstyling, Hairthurium shares a simple DYI technique to try at home.

Get soft waves quickly with this hair-to from folica.comAllure magazine and hairstylist Eugene Souleiman:

1. Cultivate some texture. Spritz clean, damp hair with a light setting spray or a thickening spray (if it’s fine) and scrunch the ends as you blow-dry using a diffuser. (If your hair’s curly, blow it dry, and stretch it out with a paddle brush or your fingers; don’t scrunch.)

2. Create buns. Once your hair is 90 percent dry, draw a middle part that extends down to your nape. Twist each section up into a loose bun at ear level and secure with bobby pins. Then blast hair with a diffuser until it’s totally dry.

3. Tousle like crazy. Just before you’re ready to go out (or after waiting at least ten minutes), take the buns down and gently zigzag your fingers through your hair. Then spritz all over with a texturizing spray to take down the shine and separate the waves.
