Sen. Peter Bragdon Earns Local Endorsements

Rep. Dick Hinch and former Rep. Maureen Mooney throw support behind candidate in new Senate district.

State Rep. Dick Hinch and former State Rep. Maureen Mooney have endorsed Senate President Peter Bragdon for re-election to the State Senate in the newly-created District 11. The new District 11, when enacted into law, will include the towns of Merrimack, Amherst, Milford and Wilton.  The new district has been approved by the State Senate and awaits passage by the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Mooney, a three-term former Merrimack State Representative, who considered a run for Senate this year, says:

"I am appreciative of, and humbled by those who encouraged me to run for the State Senate. The final redistricting plan came as a surprise to me.  However, I believe that re-election of Senate President Peter Bragdon as Merrimack's new senator presents a unique opportunity for our town. As the current Senate President, I believe that Peter Bragdon will be in a position to advance Merrimack-specific issues effectively. I have personally known and worked with Sen. Bragdon for many years, and he has more than earned the opportunity to prove to us that my faith in him is well-founded."

Hinch added, "I believe Sen. Bragdon will be an influential, proactive and visible Senator for Merrimack, and that is exactly what Merrimack needs right now.  Last month, the Senate President testified at a House hearing on behalf of toll relief bills so he's already started working for Merrimack."
