Sex Offender Arrested After Fleeing NH
Beau J. Shields was arrested by US Marshals and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department and extradited back to New Hampshire where he faces charges in Merrimack.
A convicted sex offender facing charges in Merrimack for failing to register as such last March was recently arrested outside of New Hampshire by U.S. Marshals and the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department.
A warrant for the arrest of Beau Shields, 24, of 2 Garnet St., Merrimack, was issued last March 28 after he failed to register as a sex offender in town, according to usmarshals.gov. He is considered a tier three offender and as such must register every three months. Merrimack Police said in a release issued Jan. 24 that Shields has been on the run since his failure to appear for registration last year.
Shields was convicted of two counts of felonious sexual assault in Hillsborough County in 2009, according to usmarshals.gov. He has a wrap sheet that includes, but is not limited to, bail jumping, simple assault, disobeying a police officer, theft by unauthorized taking, criminal trespass and driving after suspension.

Following his arrest, he was extradited back to New Hampshire and booked by this week. His bail was set at $20,000 cash. It is not known at this time if Shields was able to post bail or if he's being held in custody.
Shields is due back in the 9th Circuit Court District Division at Merrimack on Feb. 2, at 9:30 a.m. to answer the felony charge.
