Police Investigating Brookline, Lyndeborough Shootings; Suspect Caught In Nashua
A multi-town manhunt for a possibly armed and dangerous suspect has ended in Nashua after 2 people were shot in two communities Wednesday.
LYNDEBOROUGH, NH — Police in southwestern New Hampshire spent several hours on Wednesday searching for a possible armed and dangerous suspect after a shooting in Brookline and another in Lyndeborough.
The suspect was captured on Auburn Street in Nashua around 12:15 p.m.
At just before 10 a.m., police and fire and rescue teams in Lyndeborough were sent to a home for a report of a person shot in the head and a suspect fleeing the area in a white BMW.

According to posts on Twitter, the vehicle was last seen in Greenfield. About 15 minutes later, police and fire and rescue teams reported a shooting on Route 13 in Brookline — with police officers searching for a white BMW.
A pursuit was reported for the vehicle, reported to be a crossover, through Wilton and other communities. Police in Lyndeborough spotted the vehicle, ran the plate, and realized it was the same vehicle involved in other shootings.

Around 10:15 a.m., police believed the incidents were connected. A dead body was discovered at a Center Road home in Lyndeborough. The person shot in Brookline reportedly died, according to officials, who later said the man survived and was sent to a hospital in Massachusetts.
Michael Garrity, the public information officer for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, confirmed the department was investigating two suspicious deaths in the Lyndeborough area around 10:30 a.m.
According to Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography, the BMW was found later in Lyndeborough with a large amount of blood inside the crossover. The suspect, who is still at large, fled the area. A New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit and a helicopter were called in. The K-9 lost track of the suspect on a railroad or rail trail in the area.
A possible sighting was reported at the Milford Market Basket, which led police to investigate the tip. The sighting led the New Hampshire Department of Motor Vehicles in Milford to close temporarily.
"The Milford DMV location is temporarily closed due to an active and ongoing law enforcement situation in the area," the department stated on Twitter. "We will issue an update when operations resume. We apologize for any inconvenience while ensuring the safety of our employees and the public."
Around 12:15 p.m., the suspect was arrested in Nashua in the area of Auburn Street.
Nashua police posted a note on Twitter informing residents of the situation.
"Please be aware there is a heavy police presence in the downtown area of the city related to an ongoing investigation," the post stated. "There is no threat to public safety at this time."
