A Sign of the Times? NH Donald Trump Sign Set on Fire

Hollis Police are looking for information about who lit a political sign on fire this morning just over the line from Merrimack.

HOLLIS, NH - The general election isn’t until November of this year but the political times have already been precarious – with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s campaign receiving the brunt of the volatility – from vandalized political offices, signs ripped up, with Bernie Sanders supporters even caught on camera ripping up the signs, and a sign being mistaken for a bomb in Massachusetts.

The latest incident? A Trump political sign set on fire in the southern part of New Hampshire.

Police are seeking information about who lit a political sign on fire in Hollis this morning, according to the department’s blotter blog site.

Hollis Police and Fire and Rescue teams were sent to Merrimack Road – less than a quarter of a mile from Merrimack – at around 12:45 a.m. for a report of a campaign sign on fire.

“Upon arrival, (an officer) observed a large campaign sign hanging in between two trees fully engulfed in flames,” according to the alert. “(The officer) extinguished the fire and upon speaking with the owners of the sign learned that this was not the first time the sign had been damaged.”
