Speeding on DW Highway Leads to DWI Charge: Cops

A local man was arrested for drunk driving after being stopped for speeding on the Daniel Webster Highway on Saturday morning.
David Poirier, 35, of Eria Road in Merrimack, was arrested on Jan. 9, 2016, for operating under the influence and speeding.

According to police, at just after 1 a.m., an officer stopped a motor vehicle on the DW Highway for a motor vehicle violation.
The officer noticed “signs of impairment” with the driver, Poirier, and after a roadside investigation, he was arrested.

Poirier was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Jan. 21.
