An officer stopped Mehlhorn while he was driving a Volkswagen Passat on the Daniel Webster Highway, reportedly with a defective headlight.

“During the stop, the officers noticed what he believed to be drug paraphernalia within the car and advised the operator, Kyle Mehlhorn, that he was going to complete a search warrant for the vehicle,” according to a report by Officer Chris Dowling of the Merrimack Police Department. “While attempting to secure the car, Mehlhorn refused to follow instruction and get out of the car.”

A struggled ensued and Mehlhorn was arrested and charged. He refused bail and was held at the Valley Street Jail in Manchester, with a scheduled arraignment on Jan. 4, 2016.

According to online reports, Mehlhorn was arrested last year for allegedly knocking down a stranger who was trying to intervene in a fight that was happening on Elm Street. Police found the victim “lying on his back, arms outstretched, with blood pooling beneath his head,” according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

Mehlhorn, who previously lived in Bow, was also arrested in July 2011 for allegedly upskirting women at York’s Wild Kingdom zoo in Maine, according to an article on Seacoastonline.com.
