Teen Arrested for Aggravated OUI, Other Charges

Merrimack Police arrested Scott Dawson after an erratic driving call on Continental Boulevard last month.

A local teen was arrested on a slew of charges last month after a traffic stop on Continental Boulevard, according to Sgt. Ted Dillon of the Merrimack Police Departent.

Scott Dawson, 19, of Caron Road in Bedford, was arrested on May 16, 2015, and charged with aggravated OUI, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, transporting alcohol, and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

According to Dillon’s report, at around 12:30 a.m., police received a call about a possible intoxicated driver on the road. The officer located the vehicle, a 2008 Subaru Impreza, and allegedly “did observe the car driving erratically.” After speaking with the driver, Dawson, the officer alleged that he showed signs of impairment. After a brief investigation, he was arrested.

“While with Dawson, the police did find a small amount of marijuana and alcohol in his car,” according to Dillon, and those charges were added, along with the drug and alcohol transportation charges.

Dawson was released on personal recognizance bail and was scheduled to be in court on May 26, to answer to the charges, according to police.
