Three Days in, 7 Have Filed for State Office
Six have registered as state representatives, one for senate as of midday Friday.

The filing period for state elections opened on Wednesday to lines of representative, senate and gubernatorial candidates at the Statehouse adding their names to the list of legislative hopefuls.
Town Councilor Dan Dwyer officially registered to run for the newly-formed District 11 Senate against Senate President Peter Bragdon, R-Milford. The new Senate district encompasses Merrimack, Amherst, Milford and Wilton.
Here in Merrimack, six residents have filed for state representative including four Republican incumbents and one Democratic and one Republican newcomer.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, Jeanine Notter, Tony Pellegrino, Lenette Peterson and Joe Thomas had all filed for re-election. Also on the list were Phil Straight, on the Republican ticket and JoAnn Rotast on the Democratic ticket.
Additionally, Chris Buda has filed to be a delegate to the Republican convention.

Merrimack has eight representative seats available during the general election.
