Ticked Off Resident Allegedly Punches Car
Merrimack Police arrest Matthew Ashwell for allegedly damaging a vehicle.

A local man is expected in court next month on a vandalism charge, according to police.
Matthew Ashwell, 24, of London Court in Merrimack, was arrested on Aug. 22, 2015, and charged with criminal mischief-domestic.

According to police, at around 7:15 a.m., a person who lives in the same residence as Ashwell came to the station to report a domestic disturbance. The person alleged that Ashwell “became angry and punched the victim’s car causing a dent on the roof,” according to Sgt. Brian Levesque.
Police spoke with the victim and then later went to the home and arrested Ashwell. He was transported to headquarters and later, released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. Ashwell is due in court on Sept. 10.
